I imagine Libby's fate depends a great deal on the political situation as Bush leaves office. Presidents commonly issue a large number of pardons on their way out the door, but there will be some interesting political calculus involved in this one.
I imagine a resounding democratic victory in the next election could save Libby from prison. If the GOP is buried anyways, why not? On the other hand, should congress remain narrowly divided and the next president fail to win the election with a convincing margin of victory, Libby may be SOL.
